Our Resort History

WGH Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd. emerged from the roots of the World Group, a family-owned business enterprise with a journey spanning nearly four decades, commencing with its ventures in mining. Over time, the World Group diversified its portfolio, branching into Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), retail, logistics, consulting, and the vibrant world of hospitality services. The foray into the hospitality sector marked its inception with the establishment of the World Barbil Hotel in Odisha.

The irresistible charm of Kerala, often celebrated as 'God's Own Country,' beckoned the Group with enticing opportunities in the tourism industry. In 2012, the Group ventured into the tourism and hospitality arena in Kerala by acquiring World Backwaters Alleppey. Currently, World Group Heritance (WGH) proudly owns and operates properties in two prominent tourism destinations within Idukki District, namely Munnar and Thekkady. Additionally, WGH is on the verge of unveiling a new Five-Star property in Kochi, set for inauguration by December 2023. Moreover, WGH is actively expanding its operations in the Middle East and Africa.
Meanwhile, in Puri, Odisha, the World Group is in the process of developing two additional Five-Star properties under the new brand name 'LYFE.'
This trajectory exemplifies the Group's remarkable growth and expansion. As the tourism sector experiences a resurgence following the stagnation caused by the pandemic, the World Group is perfectly positioned to seize the imminent boom, ascending to new heights in the realm of travel and tourism.
