Kochi

Kochi, also recognized as Cochin, stands as the commercial hub of Kerala and holds the title of being the most densely populated city in the state. Nestled within the boundaries of Ernakulam District, Kerala, it has been categorized as a Tier-II city by the Government of India. The establishment of the Kochi Municipal Corporation took place in 1967, encompassing mainland Ernakulam, Fort Kochi, and suburban areas like Edapally, Kalamassery, Aluva, and Kakkanad to the northeast, as well as Tripunithura to the southeast. The city also encompasses a cluster of islands situated closely in the expanse of Vembanad Lake. Often referred to as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea", Kochi holds this charming title.
