Located in Munnar, around 12 kilometers from Tall trees Resort Eravikulam National Park is one of Kerala’s most well-maintained and popular tourist attractions. This national park was established to protect the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a rare mountain goat species native to the Western Ghats.
Managed by the Kerala Forest Department, the park offers a well-organized visitor experience. There is ample parking space at the entry point, along with ticket counters and helpful staff to assist tourists. Tickets can also be obtained from vending machines — the entry fee is ₹200 for Indian citizens and ₹450 for foreign nationals.
Visitors are transported by bus to the top area of the park, from where a scenic walk begins. During the walk, you can spot Nilgiri Tahrs in their natural habitat and enjoy breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. The walk through this untouched and pristine landscape is a truly refreshing part of any Munnar itinerary.
Visiting Eravikulam National Park requires half a day, including travel time and exploration. However, it’s a worthwhile experience, especially for families, nature lovers, and those traveling with their loved ones. It’s a perfect blend of wildlife, nature, and tranquility.
